Along with preparing for finals, I was also preparing for a physical fitness test. I'm required to stay physically fit while I'm the military. It has been really hard getting up early in the morning and going for a run. I notice my energy levels are higher and stress is lower on the days I do go for a run.
I mentioned in a previous post how I injured my knee. It has been a long recovery and I was worried about pushing my knee too far during my test. During the last few weeks I have been running to push my endurance. Surprisingly, my knee held up and it's just been a little sore.
It all paid off when I passed my fitness test in the excellent category this weekend. I was able to complete the mile and half run in eleven minutes and eleven seconds. I have slowed down over the past decade since I used to run much quicker. I just wish I did not have to drill this weekend in the middle of finals. The good news is that I will not have to test again for another year.
